In this presentation, we explore current economic practices and material flows in our modern society. We will look at Kate Raworth’s ideas about a “doughnut economy” and discuss the benefits and shortfalls of current practices. We will learn what is meant by “zero waste” and what are the environmental planetary boundaries. We will also see how a circular economy will help us meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals and while creating a more just and equitable society.
